Important Note: In addition to the above requirements, if your PC is a desktop it must have a serial port or an available PCI-Express bus slot. If your PC is a laptop it must have a PCMCIA slot or an ExpressCard slot.
Laptop
You must determine if your Laptop has a PCMCIA or an ExpressCard slot. It may have neither. However, if present it will most likely be located on the side of your laptop. Both the PCMCIA and the ExpressCard slots are 54 mm wide and 5 mm tall (about 2 inches by ¼ inch) and usually have a trap door covering it. See picture below for a typical layout. Note the PCMCIA slot.

To determine if it’s a PCMCIA or an ExpressCard Slot
A sure way to determine which type of slot is present is to open the trap door and look at the connector inside. If the connector width is the full width of the slot then it’s a PCMCIA slot.
If the connector width is about 2/3’s the width of the slot then it’s an ExpressCard slot.
Desktop
To determine if your desktop has a serial port or an available PCI-Express card slot, check the specs for your particular computer model.
If Purchasing a new PC:
A Laptop with Vista 32 bit OS, 2 Gig of RAM, an Intel 1.5 Ghz CPU and an ExpressCard slot is recommended.
